My favorite time to shower is at night. The kids are in bed, I have all the hot water I want, and after washing away the days stress (and smells), I can drift off to blissful sleep. And the best part…my hair dries overnight. So convenient!
My other option, showering in the morning, is not so appealing. I have to get up really early, rush through the whole shampoo/condition/shave/soap process before the little ones appear demanding food. And then I never seem to have time to go back and actually finish styling my hair and applying what little makeup I actually wear.
The other night I missed my night time shower and didn’t get up early enough to catch the morning one either. That was okay though because it was cleaning day and I didn’t have anyplace to go. I swept and scrubbed and dusted and wiped for most of the day. Around 4:00 Jeremy called and asked if I could come to the church to help him with a project.
Oh my goodness! That not only meant finding a last minute babysitter, but also figuring out what they would eat and getting Stafford from the groomer. Oh yeah….and taking the missing shower!!!
All this and be at the church in less than 2 hours. Alllllll-righty then!
So the first thing I did was turn on a cartoon for the kids. That guaranteed me at least 30 minutes of bathroom time. I hopped in the shower quickly and when I got out, I went into the living room to see how it was going. Savannah looked at me excitedly and said, “Mommy! Mommy! Look…this is for you!!!!”
She was watching an advertisment for this:
I am wondering what in the world is making her think Kaboom is for me. Rusty shower head? Moldy tile? Soap scum and hard water stains??? So in my curious state I ask her “What makes you think that is for me?”
She replies with their tag line, “It works hard so you don’t have to.”
Thanks for thinkin’ of me, Baby!!!!
