Ready? Set? Freak Out!

It was only a matter of time before the “Freak Out Fest” was bound to begin. It happened yesterday. We went to a friend’s house to finish packing up the donated clothing for the mission trip. Look at all the suitcases!!! That doesn’t include any of our personal luggage. They are jammed full of things to give away!!!

We talked about final arrangements and the last thing everybody said was, “See you at the airport!” They seemed excited about this prospect. Me? Not so much. Have I mentioned how much I hate to fly? Only a few thousand times. I know. Sorry.

Last night when I tucked Savannah in I started crying. I didn’t mean to. It’s just that we were away from them a lot this weekend and I was talking to her saying, “Ya know, I just don’t know how I’m going to be away from you for 7 whole days! I’m going to miss you soooo much…” Then I started bawling. Right in front of her. Nice one, Mom!

As if the thoughts of being away from my kids for a week without phones and email, in a foreign land where I do not speak the language isn’t enough, this morning my attention was diverted to this:

honduras flight

A plane crashed this past weekend in Honduras. It killed 5 people and hospitalized many more. They have shut down the entire airport. More details can be found here.

My nerves are already shot, and it’s only Monday!
