Today was one of those mornings when my bed is more comfortable than usual. Why is that? I mean, same bed, same covers, same pillows. But some mornings it’s soooo comffy! I wasn’t even really tired. Just laid there for a long time enjoying the comffiness and realizing it will be a while before I sleep on anything with a plush pillow top.
Savannah and Emery crept into our bed at some point during the wee hours. Jeremy had to go into the office for a little while this morning so he said his good-byes to them before he left. He explained that we were going to Honduras and I asked Savannah if she knew what was there. She said that yes, she knew Jorge was there and it was like where Erica lived.
Next thing I know Savannah has gone into her savings jar where she is keeping money for an Ariel doll that she wants. She gave me 2 quarters and a nickel and said, “Mom, will you take this money with you to help somebody? And tell them it came from a sweet and kind little girl. Don’t forget that part, okay?”
Awww…so cute! Ya know, we pray for our sponsored children all the time but I never really know how much my kids understand about why we are trying to help them and their families. It does my heart good to see Savannah being so generous like that.

So nice that you got to cuddle with the kiddos this a.m. I hope you have a great trip! I look forward to reading about it when you get back :)
She’s right… that was a very sweet and kind little thing to do.
I hope y’all have an amazing time in Honduras. Making it worth all the time away from the kiddos.
Love,
Jess
I was re-reading Rabbi Straus’ condensed version of of “God’s To-Do List” last night, and I thought of you when I glanced at #70. Take a

You (and Savannah!) are fulfilling God’s commandment of engaging in Tikkun Olam—repairing the world.
Blessings to you on your journey!
