One of Emery’s favorite things to do is walk along the shore of the lake behind our house and throw rocks. The bigger the better. After a week being quarantined in our house with everything from ear infections (STILL!!!!) to bronchitis, I was happy to breathe in the fresh air blowing off the water and soak up what was left of the warm afternoon sun.
Usually when we get down to the water, we take a left, going towards the boat ramp and dam area. But in the past 2 years of this drought, it seems that little Man has thrown in every rock between here and there. So we made a right into some fresh territory.
I have no idea how long we stayed out on the banks. To me there is just something so peaceful about water. Watching the waves, hearing the birds, and feeling the cool, crisp fall air. Combine that with seeing such delight on Emery’s face as he never grew tired of tossing rock after rock, and you’ve got one Mama that wished the sunset wouldn’t have come so soon.
