… do you wonder if it’s too warm to have the ice skating party your daughter’s been talking about for over a year.
… do you call to confirm that the ice rink is open for business and hear the manager say, “Yes, but you might want to wear waterproof pants.”
… do you take beach towels to an ice skating party.
… do you buy your daughter an adorable sweater with coordinating gloves and hat to wear to her 6th birthday party, only to be fishing for cooler clothing at the last minute.
This was Savannah’s 2nd and final time around the ice rink. For someone who talked about having a skating party for a year, it was strange that she got so scared. She was afraid to get hurt falling and just decided to sit it out. It worked out okay though because another one of her friends did the same thing, so the 2 of them made their own girly fun while the rest of us glided gracefully shuffled across the ice.
Emery was a different story. He had a great time and wanted to go around and around and around. Too bad I don’t know what I’m doing. I couldn’t really teach him anything. I basically just helped him balance as we scooted along together. I’m fairly confident that if taken a few more times, he’d be skating circles around me and helping me balance.
