Today I gave Emery a job to do. It was something I had been putting off doing myself, then I realized he’d probably actually think it was fun.
When we closed down our homebuilding company we had tons of sales and marketing material. Some of which just happened to be cases and cases of Coke products that we used to stock the refrigerators in the model homes. We drank some, but others were expired and tasted awful. They’ve been sitting in the basement because I wanted to pour them out and recycle the cans.
Well, I (as in ME) didn’t really want to do it. But I felt it was the proper thing to do.
Anyways, today I called Emery outside and asked him if he wanted to pour Diet Coke all over the backyard. His grin assured me that he was indeed the right person for the task.
So I gave him these simple instructions: “Pop the top, pour it out, then throw the empty can in the recycle bin”.
Sounds easy enough. Or so I thought. Turns out Emery put his own spin on the project…
And Jeremy wonders why I don’t utilize the “help” of our children more often!
