We spent Christmas in Gatlinburg, TN again this year. Papa Jim enjoyed it so much 2 years ago when we all went, he asked if we could do it again. And so of course we did!
Unfortunately, this time, Papa and Jeremy were both sick for most of the week. But we did mange to get in a trip to the yummy Apple Barn and a dinner show called “The Hatfield’s and McCoy’s”. We had a traditional Christmas dinner, opened presents, and played games. One day we walked down to the Smokey Mountain Distillery and snacked on their samples, including a few samples of moonshine. Whew! I’m thinking if Papa and Jeremy would have sampled that earlier in the week, they may not have needed all that Nyquil!
Despite the sickness, it was nice to spend a few days with our families. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, we are so blessed that the York/Simons families get along well and have fun together. It makes the holidays so much more “Merry”. :)
