Our church puts on a Ladies Tea every year on the Thursday before Mother’s Day. Last year was the first time I had ever gone and I enjoyed it so much, that this year I wanted to host a table myself. But I wasn’t sure I wanted to do it all alone, so I enlisted the help of my tea-experienced friend, Amy.
The first time we talked about it, we had already planned who we would invite. Our moms, sisters, and friends. But then the Lord really convicted me. This was an event whose purpose was community outreach. Should I really invite only those in my close group? I felt like He was telling me “No” and so we opened the table to anybody and everybody. Amy and I each invited a few people we knew, but wanted to know better. The rest was up to God. It was really cool how all the details came together.
Here is a picture of our table.
The theme for this year was Pure Passion. We thought about what we were most passionate about? Hmmm….STARBUCK’S! Whoo-Hoo!!!!
Our friend, and fellow cropper, Jennie made place cards out of the little wrap around thingys they put on your coffee in the drive thru. I’m sure they have a name but I have no idea what it is. When our guests opened them up, they found a Starbuck’s giftcard inside.
And this is Amy and me. If you don’t know us, she is the cute one and I’m on the right. I thank God for our friendship every.single.day! I love her!
