Y’all I finished this book on Wednesday and for 2 days I’ve been trying to decide what to say about it. It’s just soooo good, I don’t know where to begin.
My sister in law gave one copy to each family for Christmas and told us that not only did she expect us all to read it, but that she was also requiring an oral book report when we were through! I only got to chapter 4 before I called her letting her know I was mad at her for it.
It was challenging me. I couldn’t put it down. I was being convicted from the inside out! The truth was painful and every few pages I had to stop and ask forgiveness for my sorry self. It was exhausting, but in a really good way!
She laughed and encouraged me to keep reading. “It get’s better,” she said. “You haven’t gotten to the chapter on grace.”
Ahhhh…grace. Nothin’ quite like it.
I wish I could sum up how much this book has changed my thought process. When you start making decisions based on their eternal value, it really changes so much more than the final outcome. It can change your attitude or emotions. It might even ultimately change your mind. It’s very humbling.
So what is driving you? Your current economic situation? Your kids or spouse? Why do you do what you do and how is it impacting those around you? Does it glorify God? In what way? Do you believe that Heaven and Hell are real places? Why or why not? Who or what are you living for? How many lives are you impacting? In what way?
Questions just like these are continually thrown at the reader of this book. It is very thought provoking and I challenge everybody to read it. I can guarantee that you won’t come away from it unchanged.
