This week in You Capture the challenge was Letters. I’ll tell you, at first I had tons of ideas rolling around in this ole head of mine. Since my youngest is learning his letters, letter sounds, and how to write his capitals, I have an abudance of alphabets in my house.
But as the week wore on, I just got plain busy and none of my ideas turned to fruition.
On Wednesday’s my wonderful mother takes my children for the day. It allows me to catch up on work related stuff and make important phone calls without interruption. And today when I went to pick them up, Savannah had made these:
Love Letters
And since this is a challenge afterall, I didn’t just take one picture of this brillant masterpiece. Oh no. I took lots.
There were pictues with the flash, which washed out those beautiful flower stickers. There was a picture with the flash off and the overhead kitchen light on, but it turned out very yellow and also the lights glared big time off the countertop. So then I turned off the flash and the lights, but that one was too dark. I thought I might be able to lighten it up with photo editing software, however I wanted to try one more thing on my own.
I went through my kitchen and opened every blind in order to let in the most natural light as possible. I adjusted where I was standing and took the shot you see above. It turned out perfectly true to color. All I did was crop it a bit since somehow I managed to get it way off center.
I also stepped out of the box by turning the dial from the the green “cheater” button on my Rebel to the “flower”. I don’t know what their actual names are. I wanted to focus on the letter to Mom, but blur the letters to Dad and Emery in the background.
I think it turned out rather well and I had fun playing around with them. Thanks again to Beth for hosting. Don’t be shy. Join in the fun. Next week’s challenge is Joy!
