One of the great things about homeschool groups is the field trips. We would probably go on field trips without being in a homeschool group, but it’s so much more fun to go places with our friends. Plus we get discounts and cool behind the scenes tours and stuff that we wouldn’t get if we just went by ourselves.
This year we went to BJ Reece Apple Orchard. Mr. Reece told us all about his orchard and took us to the back where he stores his apples all year long. It was cold in there… so we didn’t stay long! Here is Emery, Savannah and Elijah as we were headed out the door for some warm air!
Then Mr Reece led us out to the orchards where we got to pick our own apples off the tree. This picture reminds me a little too much of the story of Adam and Eve. LOL…
We also got to feed animals…
and capture ducks.
Since we were right around the corner from Amicalola Falls State Park, we decided to hike up the falls before heading home. While we were there, we met a man named Jack Fussell who walked across the United States earlier this year to raise money for Alzheimer’s Disease. He trains for this amazing accomplishment by running up and down the steps at the falls. Wow… I couldn’t even get up the stairs without pulling myself up on the handrails and gasping for breath! You go, Jack!!!
