On the afternoon of June 30th a black snake was found in the driveway of 123 Yorktown breaking the previous record and bringing the total number of snake sightings to three in 2008.
When questioned by authorities living at the residence, as to why Mr. York would break from his quest of picking up Chinese take-out to bring his family outside in witness of such a horrific site, he commented, “I thought it would be fun to see the looks on their faces.”
The authorities replied that Mr. York should be considered very fortunate to have had in his hand fried rice, egg rolls, and mongolian beef upon his return later that evening.
The 6 foot monster marks the longest black snake ever recorded in the York’s history. When Lucy, previously dubbed “the snake eating wonder cat” with her heroric actions months before, was questioned as to why she sat idly by as the snake made himself comfortable beneath the vehicle less than 10 feet away, she remained silent.
The family believes Lucy may be upset about how much they’ve been out of town lately and could possibly be on strike. This is however, just speculation, as she has not said anything to anyone in several days.
Meanwhile Mr. York, refusing to honor the wishes of the authorities and beat the snake over the head with his golf club until it would never EVER slither again, gently placed the sneaky serpent back in woods of Yorktown.
